Lyme Information:
Lyme Disease: The good, the bad, the ugly! There is a lot of information out there on Lyme Disease, treatments, opinions, and on and on...bottom line is, everyone reacts different to different treatments, there is no quick treatment because unfortunately this is nothing like treating strep throat, and everyone has to pick the treatment method that is not only RIGHT for them, but #1 affordable to them (or somewhat), #2 attainable (I can't just jump on my private jet and fly to fancy places for fancy treatments) and # 3 what they feel comfortable with. The other thing is insurance, no matter what insurance or secondary insurance I have, we run into problems. They don't like to pay for medications that cost a couple thousand dollars. My mom, my doctor and our pharmacist are continually working to get certain medications paid for by insurance and it hasn't been going well. My boyfriend has been so wonderful because he worked to sell wristbands and does whatever he can to help raise money to help me out. The treatments, no matter what they are, are very expensive and my mom is doing everything she can to get them for me.
